My heart jumped for joy when I discovered Tutto®’s Camera on Wheels bag at MacWorld last week. I’ve had difficulty finding (and being happy with) THE PERFECT solution to transporting my camera gear for photo shoots. See, I like my handbag and lately I’ve resorted to carrying my camera in my handbag with my 24-70mm

I’ve amassed a lot of cookbooks over the last year and my children and their families have benefited from some of them. When we have family gatherings, one or two of them may surprise us with a dish inspired by one of the famous cookbook authors I’ve had the privilege to meet. This week, I

Our consensus on Day One of the Winter Fancy Food Show was that while cupcakes were definitely big in 2011 ~ gourmet popcorn will definitely own 2012. We did our fair share of tasting some of the finest treats on display at the show and concluded that not all popcorn is created equal(ly). We tasted

Balance. The very definition of the word is: to exist in a state of equilibrium or harmony. It is what we all endeavor to attain in our hectic, crazy day-to-day lives. For Chef Michael Mina, “balance” is a philosophy, his cooking philosophy, to be precise. Acidity, sweetness, spice, richness, all must be in harmony to create a successful food experience. This harmony in all things is certainly on display at Chef Mina’s flagship restaurant Michael Mina SF. Located in the heart of San Francisco’s financial district in the very spot Chef Mina helped to conceive Aqua, this establishment bearing his name was voted Restaurant of the Year 2011 by Esquire Magazine and awarded a Michelin star for 2012.
Think Bamboo ~ and what comes to your mind? For me, it’s peace and tranquility. The sound of bamboo wind chimes outside my home office window soothes my spirit on any given breezy day. A lush bamboo forest we had visited while on vacation in the island of Oahu was filled with lovers

When the kids were growing up and I had a 8am – 6pm job, my saving grace many many times was my slow cooker. I rotated between that and a pressure cooker to keep my sanity. Back then, dinner consisted of a meat dish, some kind of fish and vegetables. And rice. Always

Cool Factors
‘Twas the day after MacWorld when all through the house, not a creature was stirring ~ not even a mouse. Okay, I couldn’t help that. But at some point during the three day event plus one preview evening for the media, it sure felt like Christmas. All the iParaphernalia on display and on sale to the people who perceived MacWorld to still be a techie playground. And there still were a lot of them, but as reports have it ~ perhaps not as many as those in the past.

I don’t have to read magazines to figure out what the latest is in hair fashion. I pretty much just have to notice what my nieces come up with. I’m happy to say they’re not playing with outrageous hair coloring but it’s fun to see them sport the latest in hair play ~ and no,

The holiday rush is on and sometimes, year end activities can find us all in some sort of frenzy, or two. Welcome to my life which I wouldn’t have any other way. In times like these, my body has a preferred way to tell me when to inhale and take a deep breath. Hello singular zit-sensation-right-smack-by-my-nose-that-lasts-two-weeks! Ugh.
